In my Asian film module, we'll be dedicating 2 weeks nearing the end of the semester to discuss Singaporean cinema and also be screening "881". For all those people who have not heard of Royston Tan before "881" and think that it was his first attempt at musicals, think again.
I missed home so much that I went to search for his short films that made me like him so much. A film is not just about aesthetics; it's about being critical of the society around you.
"Cut" is made in response to the 27 cuts made on his gangster-themed short film "15".
