Ah let's see what I have been busy with. Surprisingly, I have been returning hall more for IHG this year as compared to last year. I've never been a sporty person so I never did cared much about IHG. BUT this year, I decided, no forget that. I was FORCED as a sub-committee member to take up at least 3 IHG games which kind of explains things a little. And of course, since I'm back, I might as well snap a few shots of the games =)
I myself TRAINED for squash but alas was not good enough to play. I can't guarantee I won't return with 2 sets down with 0-9.
Up next is Christmas. Busy Busy Christmas, and totally spent at pigging out. Go somewhere and the agenda is food. Not that I mind it as Singaporean but I need to look out for my weight! Especially with Hong Kong food up in my agenda too!
And of course, how can we lose focus on the real reason for Christmas. I'm quite glad church service this year is simpler than the usual hoo-ha drama extravaganza. Gives me more time and space for reflection and thanksgiving.
Met with my girls and ONE guy for Christmas and mini gathering before I fly. Thanks Ann Soon for the tortoise! Remind me to stop laughing at you since you're been through so much, up till massaging and kissing the heart, at the build-a-bear workshop. Thanks girls, thoroughly enjoyed your company =)
I finally did get to eat my long-craved chomp chomp cai tao kuey! And impromptu too! Like totally unplanned haha! Add on all other oily unhealthy but satisfying food and you get a happy but more weight/health-conscious Joycelyn who reasons that it's alright since she worked out more than usual these days. Though still not a lot haha!
And my dearest bestie. Went crystal jade xiao long bao buffet with her.
Gosh, I'll totally miss her coz when I'm back from HK, she'll be gone =( But you know, with Pam and CY, it really feels like the 5 senses can't separate us or spoil our friendship. We know they're there, always. So 2009 is going to be international year, with me in HK, Pam in Vegas and CY in Tokyo.
Go see your world best friends. But remember to come home. Because I will be coming home.
Okay, that's all for now. For more photos, please check out facebook.
It has been a busy week for me. Started with Camp Purity last Sunday, followed by Christmas celebration at church and at friends' houses. Before I knew it, I'm left with exactly one week before I fly.
I don't feel like going now. It's like pre-departure jitters.
Father, forgive us if the ways of the world have blinded us to the sacrifice which You've had freely given. forgive us if the hype and celebrations have led us to forget the true reason and source of Christmas.
It's our dear Lord Jesus Christ's birthday. And that's all that matters.
Happy Birthday to the greatest Love of all. I love You Jesus.
Avalon - We are the reason
As little children we would dream of Christmas morn Of all the gifts and toys we knew we’d find But we never realized a baby born one blessed night Gave us the greatest gift of our lives
We were the reason that He gave His life We were the reason that He suffered and died To a world that was lost He gave all He could give To show us the reason to live
As the years went by we learned more about gifts The giving of ourselves and what that means On a dark and cloudy day a man hung crying in the rain All because of love All because of love
I finally found the reason for living It’s in giving every part of my heart to Him (every part to Him) And all that I do every word that I say (you know I’ll be saying) I’ll be giving my all just for Him, for Him (every thing for Him)
Don’t you know we're the only reason That He came, only came to save us When He gave His life for us, He suffered and died For a world that was lost He gave Everything that He had He gave To show us the reason to live
I'm currently busy with preparations for Camp Purity, Hall IHG as well as packing for my coming adventure. Oh, and did I mention how popular I am? Everyone seems to want to ask me out these days. Hah! I really do wish to spend more time with family and friends before I fly off. What used to be 3 months is now only 3 weeks!!
And I started packing up my room since I'm scheduled to move out this coming Monday. Nostalgia sets in pretty quickly when you're packing up memories that were with you for one and a half years. I wonder if some things will just remain stuck in time just for me to return to. Oh gosh, I love this room. It was really God's providence that gave me this wonderful room that is so near to all essentials and so conducive for studying. Oh well, there is an end to all good things.
